<p>Work Schedule</p> <p>There are multiple positions available at either the Warwick campus or the Providence campus. The hours are typically:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Monday through Thursday 8am-12:30pm (Providence)</p> </li><li> <p>Monday through Thursday 11:30am-4pm (Warwick)</p> </li></ul> <p>The schedule, hours, and campus may vary depending on the department's needs.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>CCRI Advantage is an innovative program that helps associate degree-seeking CCRI students get a strong start in college. The goal of the program is?to help students prepare for college-level coursework and to meet CCRI's proficiency milestones prior to starting credit-bearing courses in their first semester of college. The program seeks to successfully transition math and reading/writing students from their developmental status to successful completion of credit-bearing/transferable course credits.</p> <p>The tutor will serve as a an integral member of the team (three-person team), assessing student achievement, delivering seven-week CCRI Advantage English reading and writing curriculum, providing one-on-one and small group tutoring in-person to students struggling with course subject matter. They will provide in-classroom support to students as an embedded tutor, and facilitate advisory time for additional student learning.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide in-person tutoring to individuals and small groups.</p> </li><li> <p>Review organizational and study strategies with students.</p> </li><li> <p>Support students during in-classroom lectures and activities and during the optional advisory period.</p> </li><li> <p>Reinforce and review concepts taught in class.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as a role model for students by demonstrating good study skills and community building.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as initial point of contact for students outside of class hours.</p> </li><li> <p>Refer students to college support services and other college departments when necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with campus coordinator, facilitators and/or Learning Leaders to ensure continued successful operation of the program.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other related duties as required.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Earned Associate's degree in subject specific area, or related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Submission of official college transcript(s).</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of one (1) year experience in providing tutoring in higher education, a community organization or high school.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated advocacy and commitment to student success and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by community college and developmental education students.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Blackboard Ultra, Zoom, MS Teams, and WebEx.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Earned Bachelor's degree in subject specific area, or related field. </li></ul> <p>Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of any employment visa including student visas.</p>
