<p>Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium</p> <p>Assistant Manager - Restaurant</p> <p>Job Title: Assistant Manager - Restaurant</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-exempt</p> <p>Hours: Full-time</p> <p>Pay Rate: Starts at $21.96/hour</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking an Assistant Manager to assist in all aspects of the Treetops Restaurant operations. In the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager, this position would assume responsibility for the restaurant.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Assist in supervising restaurant operations and employees (45- 75 employees). </li><li>Prepare schedules for staffing the restaurant. </li><li>Assist in placing weekly food, beverage, food supply, and janitorial supply orders for the restaurant and preventative maintenance records & inventory. </li><li>Assist in maintaining records of product received and transferred to all Food & Beverage departments and other zoo departments. </li><li>Assist in maintaining a controlled and secured inventory of quality products. </li><li>Assist in supervising catering staff and food preparation as needed. </li><li>Assist in daily opening, closing, and sanitation procedures; keep areas around buildings clean. </li><li>Be knowledgeable of/and properly train employees on the acceptable procedures for food preparation and presentation. </li><li>Maintain cash control policy and procedures are followed. </li><li>Monitor compliance of all food & safety handling procedures. </li><li>Monitor compliance of Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo operational guidelines. </li><li>Attend scheduled department meetings. </li><li>Ensure the restaurant maintains the standards set by the Zoo in quality, safety, service, and cleanliness for employees and customers. </li><li>Assist in supervising the department's recycling program. </li><li>Monitor and maintain weekly/bi-monthly/or monthly inventory as needed. </li><li>Cross train to work in all areas of Food & Beverage department and Guest Service areas as needed. </li><li>Assist at special events in Food & Beverage Department. </li></ul> <p>Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. </li><li>High school graduate with three years of experience in food service management. </li><li>Certification of special training is helpful including, but not limited to: front line supervision, cash handling management, and compliance of health regulations and sanitary standards. </li><li>Strong customer service skills with the ability to work with a variety of people. </li><li>Outgoing personality with enthusiasm to present a positive image of the zoo. </li><li>Ability to multi-task in a variety of the daily operation of the restaurant. </li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. </li><li>Capable of operating and training personnel on point of sale cash register system. </li><li>Knowledge of restaurant supplies, equipment, and ordering as well as inventory control. </li><li>Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and possess a valid driver's license with a good driving history. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Effort:</p> <ul> <li>Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and some evening hours. </li><li>Must be able to work in confined areas where bending and lifting is necessary. </li><li>Able to lift 50 pounds. </li><li>Work in various weather conditions. </li></ul> <p>DISCLAIMER</p> <p>The information presented indicates the general nature and level of work expected of employees in this classification.
