Teachers create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of students while fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and responsible citizenship.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Instruction and Student Learning</p> <ul> <li>Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-aligned instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of students. </li><li>Develop and implement instructional strategies that promote active student engagement and critical thinking. </li><li>Establish clear learning objectives and communicate expectations for student performance. </li><li>Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions. </li><li>Provide timely and constructive feedback to students regarding academic performance and growth. </li><li>Differentiate instruction to support varied learning styles, abilities, and needs. </li></ul> <p>Classroom Environment and Student Support</p> <ul> <li>Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment. </li><li>Establish and enforce classroom expectations that promote positive behavior and student responsibility. </li><li>Support the social, emotional, and developmental needs of students. </li><li>Maintain effective classroom management procedures that maximize instructional time. </li></ul> <p>Curriculum and Instructional Planning</p> <ul> <li>Implement District curriculum and instructional programs consistent with Board policy and administrative guidelines. </li><li>Participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and improvement activities as assigned. </li><li>Integrate technology and other instructional resources to enhance learning. </li><li>Maintain accurate instructional records, lesson plans, and assessment data. </li></ul> <p>Assessment and Student Progress</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate student performance through a variety of assessment methods. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress. </li><li>Communicate student progress with parents/guardians through. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration and Professional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with other staff members to improve instructional practices and student outcomes. </li><li>Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning teams, and District professional development activities. </li><li>Maintain professional relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues. </li></ul> <p>Compliance and Professional Conduct</p> <ul> <li>Comply with all Board of Education policies, District procedures, and applicable state and federal laws. </li><li>Maintain professional ethics consistent with the Illinois Educator Code of Ethics. </li><li>Safeguard student confidentiality in accordance with legal requirements. </li><li>Perform supervisory duties and other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education with appropriate subject endorsements. </li><li>Meet all state certification and licensure requirements for the assigned teaching position. </li><li>Provide official transcripts of all academic credits earned and submit updated transcripts as required. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Work is performed primarily in a classroom and school environment. </li><li>The position may require standing, walking, and moving throughout the classroom for extended periods. </li><li>Occasional lifting of instructional materials or equipment may be required. </li><li>The position may include supervision of students in various school settings including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and school events. </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment</p> <p>Employment terms, compensation, and work year are established by the Board of Education and the applicable collective bargaining agreement.</p> <p>Position Pay Range:</p> <p>Teacher Contract Salary Schedules</p> <p>Position Benefit information:</p> <p>Teacher Contract- Benefits</p> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Apply online https://adc.d211.org/jobs</p>
