<p>Grind/Blend Operator</p> <p>General plant labor, including operating machinery, forklift operation, lab sampling, grinder operation, rotator and slurry meat operation, housekeeping, cleaning, painting, grounds, and general housekeeping in all areas of the plant.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>General plant labor. </li><li>Utilize and operate a forklift </li><li>Utilize lab equipment to take samples and perform tests on products </li><li>Temperature monitoring of product and rotator operation </li><li>Fresh meat sampling/Frozen meat sampling </li><li>Raw product unloading </li><li>Finished product loading </li><li>Plate Freezer Operation </li><li>Inventory counts </li><li>Stretch Wrapper Operation </li><li>Pressure Washer Operation </li><li>Housekeeping, hosing down floors, moping, sweeping, emptying trash, picking up trash, etc. </li><li>Shovel and clean up spills in the plant. </li><li>Keep barrels emptied of trash and products. </li><li>Clean equipment from top to bottom. </li><li>Help unstop screw conveyors. </li><li>Cut plastic and product off of screw. </li><li>Keep floor drains cleaned out and covers on drains. </li><li>Paint as directed. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>This position will typically not supervise another position. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and write. </li><li>Ability to climb stairs and silos. </li><li>Ability to stand for entire shift. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Standing, climbing, walking, and working overhead </li><li>Ability to lift 50lbs </li></ul> <p>WORKING ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Inside and Outside </li><li>Hot and cold temperatures </li></ul> <p>Darling Ingredients is an equal opportunity employer and gives consideration to qualified applicants without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, pregnancy, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, genetic information, physical or mental disability, military service, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state and local law.
