The Classification & Treatment Officers (CTOs) at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women are responsible for the classification of every female inmate brought in to the Assessment Center.</p> <p>The Assessment Center CTO reviews the file of each inmate and meets with her one-on-one to determine the appropriate custody level. They play a vital part in helping inmates adjust to incarceration by answering questions and establishing a rapport with the inmates on their caseload. They also work closely with security to maintain the safety and security of the institution.</p> <p>The ideal candidate for this position will have exceptional organizational, communication, time management and computer skills. They must also be able to multi-task, work well under pressure and be a team player.</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Interview and classify all Assessment Center Inmates. </li><li>Serve as a member during classification committee. </li><li>Recommend programming based on inmate's needs. </li><li>Utilize the Kentucky Offender Management System and enter information into inmate files. </li><li>Review inmate classifications for reclassification as needed per adjustment results and the removal and addition of detainers. </li><li>Maintain an organized spreadsheet of inmate caseload. </li><li>Conduct risk assessments and 30-day reviews for each inmate. </li><li>Field phone calls from family members as well as attorneys and other outside agencies. </li><li>Arrange scheduled visits with attorneys and other outside agencies as needed. </li><li>Conduct weekly orientation for all new Assessment Center inmates. </li><li>Review Meritorious Good Time monthly for current caseload. </li><li>Review and submit job classification forms. </li><li>Assist security staff when needed in the unit and on the yard. </li><li>Work a designated late night each week and facilitate an inmate program. </li><li>Conduct daily tours throughout the unit. </li><li>Hold scheduled office hours to remain accessible to inmates and answer questions. </li><li>Serve as a Grievance Committee member. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE</p> <p>Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE</p> <p>Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in corrections, law enforcement, or a related field will substitute for the education on a year for year basis.
