<p>Description</p> <p>POSITION PURPOSE</p> <p>? Facilitate patient flow through the Mid-Valley Health Clinic by scheduling appointments, registering patients, verifying all pertinent information, charging the correct fees and collecting payments.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <p>? Answer the telephone, schedule appointments, screen calls and use judgment with respect to the degree of urgency for medical attention.</p> <p>? Perform patient registration, make copies of and collect all required patient paperwork, and charge and collect payments.</p> <p>? Ensure that appointment reminder calls to patients are made the day before.</p> <p>? Assist patients with questions concerning charges and insurance billing. Communicate positively and clearly with patients about sliding fee discounts and the documentation needed for appointments.</p> <p>? Maintain patient account accuracy by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information and scanning patient records.</p> <p>? Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule and reminding provider of service delays.</p> <p>? Collects mail and faxes for Clinic Manager to distribute to appropriate employees/departments.</p> <p>? Ensure accurate implementation and maintenance of the sliding fee scale in the EMR system.</p> <p>? Complete morning and nightly checklists.</p> <p>ANCILLARY JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <p>? Maintain equipment and stocking of supplies.</p> <p>? Ensure the cleaning of the reception work and waiting area.</p> <p>? Other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <p>? High School Diploma or equivalent is required.</p> <p>? Bilingual, fluent, in English & Spanish.</p> <p>? Less than 1 year related experience is recommended.</p> <p>? Preferred, but not required:</p> <p>? Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as USIS, ECW and Help2.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES</p> <p>? Skills in data entry with high level of accuracy.</p> <p>? Knowledge of billing and collection processes.</p> <p>? Knowledge of clinic flow and processes.</p> <p>? Skills in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook.</p> <p>? Ability to maintain a positive attitude, be flexible, adaptable and willing to help.</p> <p>? Ability to work in an organized fashion with a high attention to detail.</p> <p>? Ability to build interpersonal relationship and deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers.</p> <p>? Ability to handle and defuse stressful or tense situations.</p> <p>? Ability to manage time effectively and multitask.</p> <p>? Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, as well as strong telephone skills.</p> <p>? Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish (writing, reading, and speaking).</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ABILITIES</p> <p>? Must be able to sit, stand, talk and hear for extended periods of time.</p> <p>? Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.</p> <p>? General office environment conditions, with moderate noise levels.</p> <p>? May be exposed to potentially dangerous bodily fluids or hazardous chemicals.</p>
