In response, Jacobs is expanding its Transmission & Distribution (T&D) operations In North America and is looking for a Senior Drafter in its Energy & Power Group to tackle the complexities of decarbonization and utility modernization to deliver a cleaner and more secure energy future.</p> <p>As a Senior Drafter, you will be working closely with our regional and global Transmission & Distribution (T&D) delivery teams to support our utility/developer clients and operations teams as we expand our energy transition portfolio.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities & Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and maintain overhead transmission line drawings using AutoCAD, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Plan & profile sheets</p> </li><li> <p>Structure spotting and layout drawings</p> </li><li> <p>Alignment sheets and route maps</p> </li><li> <p>Foundation, access road, and right of way drawings</p> </li><li> <p>Structure details and assemblies</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret and accurately apply engineering redlines, sketches, calculations, and design criteria</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure drawings comply with client standards, utility specifications, and internal CAD guidelines</p> </li><li> <p>Support preparation of permit drawings, crossing exhibits, and as built documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Perform self-checks and peer reviews to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to resolve drafting and design issues</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain organized drawing files, layering standards, and document control practices</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with QA/QC reviews of drawings prepared by other team members</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in field visits or walk downs as needed to support design development</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor and guide junior drafters and provide technical drafting support across teams #LI-CC1 #epjobs #naepjobs</p> </li></ul> <p>This role can sit at any of our Jacobs office locations, Nationwide</p> <p>Here's what you'll need</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Drafting, Design Technology, or Engineering Technology </li><li>Minimum 4 years of drafting experience supporting overhead transmission line projects </li><li>Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (required) </li><li>Strong understanding of overhead transmission line drafting practices </li><li>Experience working with utility or consulting engineering environments </li><li>Familiarity with industry standards such as NESC and utility design requirements </li><li>Experience supporting design deliverables such as: </li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and technical documentation skills </li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities </li><li>Team oriented professional with strong interpersonal skills </li></ul> <p>Additional Notes</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience mentoring junior drafting staff is highly desirable </li><li>Familiarity with document management systems or client CAD standards is a plus </li></ul> <p>Posted Salary Range: Minimum</p> <p>92,600.00</p> <p>Posted Salary Range: Upper</p> <p>121,575.00</p> <p>Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
