<p>About the Job</p> <p>This position is in a laboratory involved in understanding neuronal circuits in health and disease, using electrophysiology, optogenetics, transgenic animals, and mouse models. The candidate will advance work by creating and modifying custom software for data collection and analysis, and interface with lab members, including students, to aid in their use of the software and to aid in their own development of software and code creation. This is a part time position. Work will be completed on an as-needed basis, with hours varying to a large degree from week to week.</p> <p>70% - Coding, including appropriate documentation of code and creation of user guides and manuals. This includes de novo creation of code for data collection and analysis, as well as modification of existing code.</p> <p>30% - Guiding lab members in the use of code and software, and assisting lab members in the creation of their own code. This may include teaching basic matlab skills.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>All required qualifications must be included in the application materials</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>Master's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.</p> <p>Previous experience with designing and implementing software for data collection and analysis, including in Matlab.</p> <p>Familiarity with Krook-Magnuson lab custom software. This code is freely available for download via github.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Master's degree or equivalent, or 4 years of related experience, in Education or related field</p> <p>About the Department</p> <p>Neuroscience is the scientific study of the nervous system.
