<p>Swim Instructor/Lifeguard</p> <p>The Swim Instructor/Lifeguard position is a part-time dual role, whose main objective is teaching learn-to-swim programs, as well as surveillance of pool participants, and enforcing pool regulations and water safety policies. Prior teaching experience not required. Must have a current ARC Lifeguard Certification.</p> <p>Part-time Flex Hours: Hours/Shifts may vary</p> <p>(Shifts available: mornings, afternoons or evenings, weekdays, weekends)</p> <p>Please note: This is a year-round position, anyone interested must be available year-round.</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Lifeguard duties</p> <ul> <li>Maintaining continuous surveillance of people in the pool to ensure that they are swimming within the safety protocols </li><li>Ensuring appropriate headcount of people involved in a watersport on an hourly basis </li><li>Spotting hazards or potential hazards and taking measures to prevent accidents </li><li>Controlling and reporting unruly behavior and evict individuals not adhering to behavior protocols </li><li>Performing rescues in the event of drowning or swimming accidents including CPR and AED if needed </li><li>Assists with chlorine residual water tests and with records and charts of water tests and records of accidents, </li><li>Checking safety of rescue tubes and buoys and perform needed maintenance </li><li>Assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment </li></ul> <p>Swim Instructor duties</p> <ul> <li>Teach learn-to-swim programs. Teaching swimming techniques and safety education to new swimmers </li><li>Creating and executing ideas on how to increase attendance in classes </li><li>Instructs or assists classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed. </li><li>Provide a fun and educational swim lesson experience for both participants and parents. </li><li>Provide exemplary customer service ensuring the best swim lesson experience for the participants and parents. </li><li>Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including communication skills with students, parents and facility staff. </li><li>Attend all training sessions and any additional staff meetings. </li><li>Complete all appropriate lesson paperwork during shift. </li><li>Must have Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification </li></ul>
