<p>Requisition Number Stu226P Position Type Student Worker Department Department of Student Workers Job Title Student Worker - MU CAMP Peer Mentor Academic Year 2025 - 2026 Classification Student Worker Pay Rate $10.25/ hr</p> <p>Position Summary Information</p> <p>Hours per week Up to 10 hours per week Days Worked Flexible Hours/Shift worked Must be able to supervise CAMP Student Center 1-2 evenings/week from 4pm-7pm and attend meeting as scheduled</p> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Job Summary/Basic Function</p> <p>MU CAMP Peer Mentors provide supportive services to incoming MU CAMP freshmen throughout their first year at the university. Peer Mentors are a support system, a friend, an advocate, and a caring role model</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Completed freshmen year as an MU CAMP participant </li><li>Completed at least 24 credits </li><li>Available to work during the Fall and Spring semesters including evening and weekends when necessary </li><li>Good communication skills </li><li>Works well with others </li><li>Have good judgment </li><li>Responsible, dependable, and organized </li><li>Enjoys working with diverse peers </li><li>Sensitive to cultural differences </li><li>Currently enrolled Millersville University student </li><li>Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints). </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum GPA 3.0 </li><li>Bilingual or multilingual </li></ul> <p>Job Duties</p> <ul> <li>Meet with each mentee at least one time per week to check in on their academic progress, adherence to CAMP requirements, and emotional/social well being </li><li>Assist mentees in meeting with professors, scheduling classes, accessing resources, buying books, completing financial aid/FAFSA, searching for scholarships, and other needs as they arise </li><li>Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with mentees and CAMP staff </li><li>Accurately document services provided to mentees in program provided by CAMP staff </li><li>Encourage mentees to connect with peers, classmates, professors, and other university staff </li><li>Encourage mentees to attend university events and get involved in areas of interest </li><li>Supervise 1-2 evening study sessions at the CAMP Student Center from 4pm-7pm </li><li>Be able to set and maintain boundaries with mentees </li><li>Attend CAMP and university meetings and events as scheduled </li><li>Maintain and report work hours </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Effort</p> <ul> <li>Be able to text, call, message, or email mentees </li><li>Be able to meet with mentees in person on campus </li><li>Must have dependable transportation to MU </li></ul> <p>Posting Open Date 02/17/2025 Posting Close Date 05/30/2025 Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>Must have completed your freshman year (24 credits) and have been an MU CAMP participant</p> <p>Quicklink for Posting/Requisition https://jobs.millersville.edu/postings/11396</p>
