In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of purchasing transactions while also supporting procurement activities such as issuing purchase orders, vendor master data management, and coordinating with internal teams to fulfill purchasing needs. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of procure-to-pay processes and ERP systems. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization committed to innovation, sustainability, and leadership in the clean energy sector.</p> <p>The role is based at our Reno, NV office and reports to the Director, Engineering & Services with a secondary reporting relationship to the Vancouver based Accounts Payable Supervisor. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Processing of Purchasing Documents (Primary Focus ~70%)</p> <p>Use of SAP ERP to:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate vendor records, assist with onboarding new vendors. Ensure all changes to vendor master file data comply with contract requirements are properly approved, and well-documented as per company policies. </li><li>Generate and manage purchase orders (POs) in line with approved purchase requisitions (PRs) in SAP, including vendor coordination and order processing. </li><li>Coordinate with various departments and teams to maintain accurate purchasing records in SAP. </li><li>Accurately record goods/service receipts (GRs/SEs) in SAP before processing invoices in Stampli. </li></ul> <p>Use of Stampli application to:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure accuracy, completeness of invoice information in Stampli including proper assignment of tax categories, compliance with company procedures and ensuring proper documentation and approvals. </li><li>Route invoices for approval in a timely manner to ensure vendors are processed on schedule. </li></ul> <p>General:</p> <ul> <li>Support procurement systems and tools, serving as the local SAP and Stampli expert for purchasing and accounts payable. </li><li>Generate and maintain accurate and complete reports and records. </li><li>Participate in the development and implementation of procurement to payable goals, objectives, procedures, and priorities. </li><li>Collaborate with ERP and accounts payable team to implement new policies, procedures, and systems. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Procurement Support (~30%)</p> <ul> <li>Create and manage purchase orders in line with approved purchase requisitions, including vendor coordination and order processing. </li><li>Maintain accurate vendor records, assist with onboarding, and ensure contract compliance and documentation. </li><li>Monitor purchase orders and budgets to ensure sufficient funds and accurate SAP data management. </li><li>Process invoices and resolve issues such as damaged goods or vendor returns. </li><li>Support procurement systems and tools, and serve as the local SAP expert for purchasing and accounts payable. </li><li>Generate and maintain reports and records. </li><li>Builds and maintains trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture that reflects and supports our Purpose, Vision, and Values </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and work experience. </li><li>Two or more years of experience in procurement and/or invoice processing using an ERP. </li><li>Knowledge of basic purchasing principles, practices, procedures, budgeting, regulations and record-keeping. </li><li>Experience as a user of SAP procurement or other ERP is an asset. </li><li>Must be detail oriented and organized. </li><li>Strong ability to understand, interpret, and successfully communicate with others. </li><li>Ability to work well with internal and external individuals in an effective manner. </li><li>Ability to analyze, interpret, apply, and ensure compliance with applicable Company policies and procedures. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams). </li><li>Ability to Travel <5% (example - training, company site visits, etc.). </li><li>Be a self-starter: highly motivated, able to work independently, willingness to learn new systems, with high energy. </li><li>Personal commitment to Lithium Americas' Purpose, Vision, and Values </li></ul> <p>Working at Lithium Americas</p> <p>At Lithium Americas, we believe our people are our most valuable asset.
