<p>Peer Tutor</p> <p>Lakewood, Colorado</p> <p>Target Salary: $14.81 an hour</p> <p>Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design is looking for Peer Tutors. Peer Tutors are responsible for providing academic support to students and assisting the coordinators in the administration for the Student Learning Center.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated academic excellence in writing, reading comprehension, and academic major. </li><li>Ability to relate well to students, faculty, and administration. </li><li>Strong communication skills. </li><li>Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA (which must be maintained throughout the term). </li><li>Graphic Design major with successful completion of appropriate RMCAD courses. </li><li>Junior, Senior or Graduate standing at start of employment preferred. </li><li>Minimum availability of five hours a week in one or two blocks of time. Experienced tutors are eligible for additional hours. </li></ul> <p>Tutor Duties Include:</p> <ul> <li>Attending tutor-training sessions as scheduled (1% per term). </li><li>One-on-one tutoring to assist students in academic learning in both their major (45% daily) and Liberal Arts courses including writing and Art History (47% daily) as assigned. </li><li>Maintaining tutoring records (2% daily). </li><li>Running study sessions as needed (1% per term). </li><li>Scheduling tutoring sessions as needed (1% daily). </li><li>Scheduling and proctoring tests as needed (1% per term). </li><li>Outreach to students through informational class visits as assigned (1% per term). </li><li>Other administrative duties as assigned (1% per term). </li><li>Other Responsibilities and Duties: </li><li>Maintaining communication with SLC staff through email. </li><li>Tutor must adhere to the Student Code of Conduct and all other policies and procedures outlined in the Student Handbook and are always a professional representation of RMCAD and the Learning Center. </li><li>Tutor must maintain a positive, welcoming attitude. </li><li>Tutor will participate in a performance evaluation process. </li></ul>
