The unit provides medication management and support for situational depression and ideation, while focusing on maintaining the independence of most patients.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Makes and documents nursing observations. </li><li>Provides input into development and maintenance of the nursing care plan. </li><li>Implements assigned aspects of nursing care plan. </li><li>Collaborates with RNs and Providers. </li><li>Coordinates patient care, admissions, transfers, and discharges with patient care, service and business office personnel, as requested by RNs. </li><li>Administers medications, treatment and therapies per scope of practice. </li><li>Communicates with patients. </li><li>Provides patient and/or family with instruction and education relevant to their condition, as delegated and supervised by RN. </li><li>Set up, utilizes and/or maintains equipment, supplies and work area Non-Essential Functions </li><li>Assists in the orientation of new employees </li><li>Participates in performance/process improvement activities. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and requirements</p> <p>Applicants should have a current State of Tennessee or Multi-State Licensed Practical Nurse.</p> <p>Additional requirements include:</p> <ul> <li>BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire </li><li>1-year experience in Geriatric Nursing, preferably in Behavioral Health is preferred. </li></ul> <p>About our Health System</p> <p>Highpoint Health Riverview is a 25-bed hospital located in Carthage, TN and is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network committed to making communities healthier with acute care, rehabilitation, and behavioral health facilities from coast to coast.
