<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Newtown Public Schools</p> <p>March 4, 2026</p> <p>POSITION: Speech and Language Pathologist</p> <p>PROGRAM:Special Education Summer School - ESY</p> <p>SCHOOLS: Sandy Hook School (8:30am - 12:30pm) or</p> <p>Newtown High School (8:15am - 12:15pm)</p> <p>DATES: 6/29/26 - 7/23/26 Monday - Thursday</p> <p>REMUNERATION: Based on Teacher Contract</p> <p>REQUIREMENTS: Connecticut Certification as a Special Education Teacher 065, 165, 265</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Participates in the development and implementation of a relevant educational prescription (IEP) for each individual student for whom speech and/or language disorders may contribute significantly to his/her educational needs. </li><li>Complies with all professional, local, state and federal regulations as well as Board policies, procedures, protocols and regulations. </li><li>Utilizes a variety of service delivery models which may include, but are not limited to, reassessment/tracking and consultation or direct services involving both pull-out and classroom intervention. </li><li>Consults regularly with parents regarding student progress and program(s). </li></ul> <p>The Newtown Public School District values the benefits that a diverse workforce brings to our students and community.
