<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-kept flooring throughout all common areas of the long-term care facility. This position ensures a hazard-free environment that supports the mobility and safety of residents, staff, and visitors.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in common areas according to schedule. </li><li>Perform floor buffing, waxing, and deep cleaning as required. </li><li>Operate industrial floor care equipment such as auto-scrubbers, buffers, and burnishers. </li><li>Remove waste and trash from assigned areas. </li><li>Place caution signs during cleaning tasks to prevent accidents. </li><li>Maintain hallways, entrances, ramps, emergency exits, and outdoor access areas clean and clear. </li><li>Conduct routine floor inspections to identify fall risks or unsafe conditions. </li><li>Assist with moving furniture for deep cleaning or internal events. </li><li>Report any unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor. </li><li>Load, organize, and maintain assigned equipment and supplies. </li><li>Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and machinery. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. </li><li>Good time management and ability to work independently or as part of a team. </li><li>Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety standards. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally. </li><li>Frequent walking, bending, pushing, and lifting. </li><li>Regular use of cleaning equipment and mechanical tools </li></ul>
