<p>SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Completes and coordinates radiographic examinations to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care and the workflow management of the department.</p> <p>CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Identifies each patient and reviews each physician order for consistency of exam ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information. Documents patient identification through signature on requisition or I.D. band in accordance with hospital and departmental policies. Records pertinent data at all times. (Patient history, explanation of limited examination, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease process to properly and safely position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, physicians and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper use of support/immobilization devices, and proper transport/transfer technique with regard given to the age of the patient.</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examinations to interpreting physician, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, and ensures proper film identification on all images. Performs such exams as abdominal echoes, renal, aorta, thyroid, pelvic, OB, bio-physical profiles, testicular, breasts, color flow, Doppler, and biopsy/fluid collections of localized areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates and exhibits knowledge of radiation safety practices, utilizes ALARA and is able to provide radiation safety information. Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the department, O.R. and at the bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high quality images using ALARA standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains confidentiality of all hospital-related information.</p> </li><li> <p>Schedules appointments and dispenses appropriate preparations to patients as indicated by departmental protocol and/or physician order.</p> </li><li> <p>Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department team to facilitate the ability to meet goals and objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with examinations of higher complexity and interventional procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in the orientation and training of new employees and health care professionals. Provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.</p> </li></ol> <p>Job Requirements: Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as well as current Ohio Department of Health Radiologic license in the category of Radiographer. ARDMS certification is preferable. Possess the physical ability to lift 50 pounds, and to walk or stand for 30 minutes.</p>
