<p>Schedule:</p> <p>Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk)</p> <p>8:00 AM - 4:30 PM</p> <p>Department: Client Services - 234</p> <p>Primary Purpose:</p> <p>This position plays a crucial role in the Customer Services Division, providing leadership and guidance to the team. The Laboratory Support Technical Lead assists in the direction of daily operations, coordination of workflow assignments, and monitoring productivity. Additionally, they contribute to the development and review of departmental procedures, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices. It's important to note that this role does not involve any laboratory testing; instead, the Laboratory Support Technical Lead offers technical and non-technical expertise to support the division's functions.</p> <p>About ARUP:</p> <p>ARUP Laboratories is a national clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory and an enterprise of the University of Utah and its Department of Pathology. Consider joining our dynamic team.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Assist the Supervisor in directing the daily operation of the team, ensuring efficient and effective performance.</p> <p>Coordinate workflow assignments and manage the case queue to optimize productivity.</p> <p>Contribute to the writing and review of departmental procedures, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.</p> <p>Assist the Supervisor in conducting performance reviews, providing employee counseling, and addressing performance issues as necessary.</p> <p>Provide technical and non-technical expertise within the division, offering guidance and support to team members as needed.</p> <p>Collaborate with colleagues across departments to resolve complex inquiries and ensure seamless operations.</p> <p>Serve as a mentor and resource for team members, fostering their professional development and growth.</p> <p>Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Supervisor or divisional leadership.</p> <p>Uphold a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.</p> <p>Performs all duties of the Laboratory Support Technical Specialist I and II as needed.</p> <p>Provide training for new employees, ensuring thorough understanding and proficiency in their respective roles and responsibilities within the division.</p> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Physical and Other Requirements:</p> <p>Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.</p> <p>Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.</p> <p>Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.</p> <p>Communicate: Effectively communicates with others.</p> <p>PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company/departmental policies.</p> <p>ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.</p> <p>Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.</p> <p>Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.</p> <p>Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as making general observations of depth and distance.</p> <p>Color Vision: Perception of and ability to distinguish colors.</p> <p>Continuing Education: Continual assessment of current literature and best practices.</p>
