<p>About the role</p> <p>The Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer will design, develop, and optimize complex database solutions within enterprise environments. This role requires strong expertise in Oracle database technologies, high-volume data processing, and performance tuning to build scalable, high-performing data solutions that support critical business operations.</p> <p>In this role you will</p> <ul> <li>Design and develop scalable solutions using Oracle database technologies </li><li>Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, and functions </li><li>Build high-performance data processing solutions, including bulk data loads and batch processing </li><li>Perform database performance tuning using AWR, TKPROF, and related diagnostic tools </li><li>Implement table and index partitioning strategies and data purging techniques </li><li>Develop and manage automated data loads using SQL Loader and similar tools </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions </li><li>Support database upgrades, patching, and system enhancements </li><li>Develop shell scripts to automate database and batch operations </li><li>Manage batch workflows using scheduling tools such as Control-M </li><li>Monitor database storage and perform basic DBA activities including space management </li></ul> <p>Work Model: 5 days onsite to Hartford, CT</p> <p>What you need to have to be considered</p> <ul> <li>6-10+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL development </li><li>Strong expertise in Oracle Database (12c, 19c, or later) </li><li>Advanced proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and reports </li><li>Hands-on experience with performance tuning in high-volume systems </li><li>Experience with SQL Developer or equivalent tools </li><li>Hands-on experience with SQL Loader and bulk data processing </li><li>Knowledge of partitioning strategies and data lifecycle management </li><li>Experience with performance analysis tools such as AWR and TKPROF </li><li>Experience managing batch processing using Control-M or similar schedulers </li><li>Working knowledge of Linux/Unix shell scripting </li><li>Basic DBA skills including space management and database maintenance </li><li>Experience supporting database upgrades and migrations </li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills </li></ul> <p>These will help you stand out</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in large enterprise environments with high data volumes </li><li>Exposure to data warehousing or ETL concepts </li><li>Familiarity with system integrations and downstream applications </li><li>Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills </li><li>Ability to work in fast-paced, high-impact delivery environments </li></ul> <p>Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future*</p> <p>Salary and Other Compensation:</p> <p>The annual salary for this position is between $64,734 - $90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.</p> <p>This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program based on performance and subject to plan terms.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance </li><li>Paid holidays plus Paid Time Off </li><li>401(k) plan with contributions </li><li>Long-term/Short-term Disability </li><li>Employee Stock Purchase Plan </li></ul>
