We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to support the meaningful work of community oncologists and the patients we serve.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The health psychologist assesses clients' psychosocial functioning and needs, and provides outpatient counseling for individuals with cancer and their family members. Services are provided to clients at all stages of the cancer process including diagnosis, treatment, long-term survivorship, and end of life. The psychologist works as part of a multidisciplinary team providing consultation, care coordination, and training to physicians, nurses, and staff. This position offers an opportunity for a leadership role in our Psychosocial Oncology program.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Providing evidence-based outpatient counseling to clients during or post-treatment for cancer, both in person and via telehealth. </li><li>Providing psychosocial assessment and crisis management including screening for suicidality, abuse, and addiction. </li><li>Connecting clients with appropriate community support services. </li><li>Developing and aiding in the implementation of new treatment programs. </li><li>Developing collaborative working relationships with referral sources and physicians to promote multidisciplinary care. </li><li>Maintaining daily documentation of professional services to meet all legal, ethical, and reporting requirements for Medicare and other insurance providers. </li><li>Maintaining confidential behavioral health records, responding to requests for records, and ensuring confidential storage of client records. </li><li>Participating in monthly peer supervision with the Psycho-oncology team. </li><li>Representing Tennessee Oncology through community educational presentations at least twice per year. </li><li>Assisting in the identification, development, and provision of staff in-service training programs. </li><li>Maintaining current Tennessee licensure as a licensed psychologist, meeting all continuing education requirements, functioning within all ethical guidelines, and complying with all state and federal laws including HIPAA. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Highly skilled and demonstrated ability in clinical assessment and treatment planning. </li><li>Highly developed verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Highly skilled and demonstrated ability in conducting evidence-based counseling interventions. </li><li>Knowledge, comfort, and ability in building rapport and serving clients from a multi-cultural perspective to include race, religion, gender, sexual preference, and a wide range of socio-economic classes. </li><li>Demonstrated skills in consultation and the ability to work as part of an oncology treatment team including knowledge of and comfort with inpatient and outpatient medical environments, and knowledge of current oncology treatments, common medical and psychiatric medications, and physiology of the human body as necessary for the practice of psycho-oncology. </li><li>Solid understanding of HIPAA and ethics in practice, and ability to apply both in complex circumstances. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Doctoral degree from an APA-accredited psychology training program and completion of an APA-accredited internship and/or fellowship, preferably in health psychology or psycho-oncology </li><li>Fully licensed as a psychologist in the state of Tennessee. </li><li>Experience working with people who have cancer is preferred </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Job Title:</p> <p>Physical Activity Required</p> <p>Amount of time</p> <p>None</p> <p>Less than 1/3</p> <p>(Occasionally)</p> <p>1/3 to 2/3</p> <p>(Frequently)</p> <p>More than 2/3</p> <p>(Regularly)</p> <p>Standing</p> <p>x</p> <p>Walking</p> <p>x</p> <p>Sitting</p> <p>x</p> <p>Fingering or manual dexterity</p> <p>Repetitive finger motion</p> <p>x</p> <p>Lifting or exerting force</p> <p>Up to 10 pounds</p> <p>Up to 25 pounds</p> <p>x</p> <p>Up to 50 pounds</p> <p>x</p> <p>Up to 100 pounds</p> <p>x</p> <p>Over 100 pounds</p> <p>x</p> <p>Reaching or stretching</p> <p>x</p> <p>Climbing or balancing</p> <p>x</p> <p>Crouching or stooping</p> <p>x</p> <p>Speaking</p> <p>x</p> <p>Hearing</p> <p>x</p> <p>Seeing (with correction)</p> <p>x</p>
