<p>GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>To set up, operate or program various types of machines for production of piece parts for shelters to achieve quality and integrity of products at the lowest possible cost.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs to manufacture parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. </li><li>Interpret technical blueprints, CAD models, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machine sequences. </li><li>Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines as needed to validate programming and ensure parts meet quality standards. </li><li>Conduct test runs to verify program accuracy, adjust as necessary, and implement corrections to improve efficiency. </li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to programming, tooling, or equipment performance. </li><li>Lead/Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and reduce production times. </li><li>Maintain and update programming files and documentation, ensuring easy access for future reference. </li><li>Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CNC programming and machining technologies. </li><li>Works closely with Supervisor and Inspection to maintain quality and reduce lost time and repairs. </li><li>Exercises judgment to devise ways to simplify and improve methods and procedures wherever possible. </li><li>Check daily timecards to ensure proper time is recorded on each job. </li><li>Responsible for company tool checkout for departmental use. Ensure necessary materials, tools and equipment are available. </li><li>Responsible for the observation of safe plant practices in assigned areas. </li><li>Oversees CNC Programming for the Team </li><li>Monitor Junior Programmers </li><li>Performs other related duties and assignments as required. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:</p> <p>This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:</p> <p>Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.</p> <p>Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.</p> <p>Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.</p> <p>Ability to adhere to workplace rules.</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.</p> <p>Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in CNC programming in a manufacturing or machining environment.</p> <p>Technical Skills:</p> <p>Proficiency with CNC programming software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM).</p> <p>Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software and G-code programming.</p> <p>Experience with Haas, Fadal, Anderson, Onsrud.</p> <p>Skills:</p> <p>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings</p> <p>Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude</p> <p>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills</p> <p>Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work</p> <p>Effective communication and teamwork skills</p> <p>WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Shop Floor environment / shared workbench or workstation.</p> <p>Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.</p> <p>Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).</p> <p>Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.</p> <p>Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors - large fans).</p> <p>Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.</p> <p>Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.</p>
