<p>As a key member of the Product Safety Engineering Group at Tesla, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our innovative products across vehicles, energy, and robotics. Our team focuses on understanding extreme real-world scenarios to inform product design and lead the industry in safety standards. In this role, you will research firefighting solutions, develop internal safety standards and processes, and communicate technical concepts to support the creation of emergency response and public-facing documents.</p> <ul> <li>Research and test novel and proposed firefighting tools and techniques </li><li>Develop internal standards and processes to continuously improve the safety of Tesla products </li><li>Support the creation of emergency response documents, focusing on firefighting and high-voltage system response for vehicles, energy products, and robotics </li><li>Bring engineering expertise to multidisciplinary groups, including non-technical members </li><li>Impact policy internally and within the industry on emergency response issues related to Tesla technologies </li><li>Master's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Fire Protection, or equivalent experience </li><li>Fundamentals in thermal, mechanical, and electrical engineering </li><li>Firefighting and emergency response experience a plus </li><li>Ability to interact collaboratively across a variety of groups </li><li>Practical, hands-on, can-do attitude </li><li>Lithium-ion, automotive, or grid-scale energy storage experience a plus </li><li>Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time </li></ul>
