<p>The AVP Business Development is responsible for leading and managing the Mid Market Business Development front line managers. This role is responsible for driving accelerated profitable growth and delivering annual new business budget through effective leadership, talent management and the execution of strategic sales initiatives. The AVP Business Development is responsible for coaching and developing frontline managers and sellers, readying them for succession across the sales organization, leading through cultural change and the evolution of Next Gen Sales.</p> <p>East Coast Region - Candidate must be located in the Eastern or Central Time Zone</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Results Orientation: Sets high standards for self and the team, ensuring key metrics are met and aligned with Staples purpose and vision. </li><li>Planning: Integrates planning efforts with team and product categories per alignment with </li></ul> <p>strategic objectives. Ensures availability of appropriate resources and effectively allocates</p> <p>resources within the region.</p> <ul> <li>Managing Execution: Ensures the execution of tactical and operational segments of the sales plan </li></ul> <p>for all products and services relevant to regional scope.</p> <ul> <li>Engage & Inspire: Personally responsible to create a culture where associate engagement is </li></ul> <p>essential. Regularly recognizes individuals and empowers associates to be 'owners' of the</p> <p>business.</p> <ul> <li>Developing Others: Develops management team and sales associates to maximize their potential </li></ul> <p>as leaders and ensure revenue growth while maximizing profitability.</p> <ul> <li>Communication:, maintains ongoing effective communications, Partner effectively with sales and </li></ul> <p>non-sales organizations to increase win rates, sales velocity, profitability, and execution of sales</p> <p>strategy.</p> <ul> <li>Adaptability: Solution-oriented. Adapts appropriately and timely to competing demands & shifting </li></ul> <p>priorities.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree or related work experience </li><li>10+ years of Sales/Business Development experience with 5+ years of leadership/sales management experience </li><li>Results oriented, self motivated and driven by both financial and career opportunities </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential </li><li>Advanced selling & negotiation skills </li><li>Management skills (mentoring, coaching, counseling) for sales leader optimization </li><li>High level of business acumen </li><li>Excellent computer skills and technology competence </li></ul>
