This role serves as the primary HR liaison for assigned client groups, offering consultation on a wide range of human resources matters. The HR Business Partner collaborates with departmental leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.</p> <p>The HR Business Partner serves as the main point of contact for client groups on topics related to HR policies, procedures, employment law, and best practices across all core HR functions.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Serves as a consultative Human Resources resource and liaison. Interprets, advises on, applies and disseminates complex policies, procedures, and options to leadership and employees; and recommends best strategies according to established objectives and goals </li><li>Facilitates and processes complex transactions and programs according to established policies and procedures </li><li>Audits human resources reports to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures </li><li>Develops and implements processes and procedures for one or many various HR functions such as employee trainings, recruitments, compensation, and payroll </li><li>Receives and responds to inquiries in-person, via email, and through various communication mediums and relays information to appropriate entities </li><li>Contributes to the development of strategic plans and directs staff implementation of initiatives in alignment with strategic goals </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Primary work will be conducted on the UW-Milwaukee campus, with remote work requests considered after the initial training period. Details will be discussed during the interview process. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>At least two years of professional experience in one or more human resources disciplines </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field - OR - equivalent professional experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience serving as an HR Business Partner or in a similar advisory role within a higher education institution or other complex organization </li><li>Proven ability to work independently while advising and supporting leadership on a broad range of HR matters </li><li>Demonstrated experience across multiple human resources disciplines </li><li>Experience analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data to support workforce strategy and planning </li><li>Strong understanding of and compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines </li><li>Coursework in Human Resources Management and/or current HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) </li><li>Demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with organizational goals </li><li>Effective problem-solving experience in employee relations matters </li></ul> <p>Target Salary Range $68,000 - $72,000 Benefits and Total Rewards</p> <p>As part of UWM's commitment to supporting the success of our team members through positive experiences, employees are provided with Benefits to Benefit You and Your Life.
