<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>The Welding Instructor will provide instruction for Welding courses. Aiken Technical College faculty provide instruction and academic advisement. Class schedules will vary from semester to semester. Classes may meet in evenings, weekends, or online. Faculty may be asked to work a split schedule (morning and evening classes) as well as teach dual enrollment courses in assigned high schools.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach courses as assigned in accordance with established syllabi.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare, review and maintain courses and programs, syllabi, and instructional materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate appropriate course and classroom management.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides academic guidance, assists students in developing personal, academic and professional plans, and engages in the College's program recruitment, student retention, and graduation efforts.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in College activities and projects and promote the College through community service.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in activities that will develop the individual's teaching performance, instructional development, knowledge of subject matter, and/or teaching or subject area qualifications in keeping with the College's mission and institutional goals.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A Bachelor's degree in a related field or an Associate's degree with demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline is required.</p> <p>Candidates who are currently enrolled in an Associate's degree program or can provide proof of enrollment within sixty (60) days from the date of hire may also be considered. Candidates actively pursuing an Associate's degree must complete the degree within the faculty probationary period of two full academic years, not to exceed twenty-four (24) months, and must submit progress reports toward degree completion at the end of each academic term.</p> <p>Candidates forwarded by the search committee will be required to complete a weld demonstration, details will be provided at the time of scheduling.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in structural and pipe welding is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW processes, possess a thorough knowledge of welding codes, safety standards, and inspection procedures, and have the ability to provide effective hands-on and classroom-based instruction. An AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) credential is preferred.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Aiken Technical College is an equal opportunity employer committed to having diversity throughout the College.
