<p>The students, staff and administration of Freetown Lakeville Middle School are excited to build our team of amazing educators. The mission of Freetown-Lakeville Middle School is to help each student develop into a respectful, responsible and resilient individual while acquiring the knowledge and skills to become a positive and active contributor to society.</p> <p>We are seeking a committed facilitator of learning, who enjoys teaching in a student centered, inquiry based learning environment. Our STEM teachers are passionate about teaching their curriculum and are able to relate concepts and principles to students' everyday lives. The goal of our STEM teachers is to build deep understandings of the key concepts related to the curriculum and make connections to current events and issues.</p> <p>Position Objective: This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility for delivering high quality instructional experience through creativity, resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks, standards and the rules and regulations of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Responsible for remaining up to date regarding Math STEM curriculum content. Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction. Responsible for mentoring students' understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments, when appropriate. Responsible for effective management of the classroom environment..Responsible for effective instruction, which includes making learning goals clear to the students, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques. Responsible for using innovative approaches, and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn. Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement. Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student earning, including, for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, with 504 plans and\or second language learners Responsible for communication with families/caregivers regarding student success. Responsible for providing equal educational to all individual regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, gender identity, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, or homelessness Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.</p> <p>Social/Civic Expectations: Freetown-Lakeville students and staff will: practice responsible citizenship; respect self and others; accept responsibility; and work cooperatively.</p> <p>Required Qualifications: Massachusetts DESE licensure in Engineering Technology (K-8) or Mathematics (grades 5-8) SEI Endorsement BA Degree</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in the content area Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs Experience teaching students who are English language learners Candidates who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years).
