<p>Position Summary</p> <p>LOCATION: This LTE Staff Attorney will work in one of the court's four District Offices (Madison, Milwaukee, Waukesha, or Wausau); the District will be selected by the LTE Staff Attorney. Some remote work may be offered after training is complete.</p> <p>SALARY: $52.39 per hour. This limited-term position does not include paid time off, but unpaid time off can be arranged with the supervisor.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>(1) Review court records, conduct legal research, and draft per curiam opinions and summary disposition orders for cases that have been screened by three-judge panels, then revise as necessary in the final editing process.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required: (1) Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; (2) Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin; (3) Significant legal experience and familiarity with court systems, which may include experience serving as a law clerk or staff attorney for an appellate court or trial-level court, or comparable litigation experience; and (4) Proficiency with Microsoft Word. Preferred: (5) Experience as an appellate court law clerk or staff attorney.</p> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>(1) Employment will require a criminal background check; and (2) the Wisconsin Court System does not sponsor work visas.
