<p>Summary</p> <p>The successful candidate will be a health service psychologist practicing in the area of Clinical Psychology with a primary focus of psychological assessment. Assessment opportunities include psychological evaluations of court-referred individuals as a component of Forensic Psychiatry evaluations, collaboration and consultation with the forensic team, and other duties as assigned. Psychological assessment will be provided in the outpatient clinic setting. The successful candidate will provide evidence-based, best practice psychological assessment practice. The position includes clinical teaching and supervision responsibilities for predoctoral psychology interns and psychiatry residents. The position may also include didactic instruction, such as presenting Grand Rounds lectures to the Department and teaching medical student lectures.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>As a residency program, members of the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry have the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary research and scholarship within the department and in collaboration with other with other clinical departments across multiple campuses. Research and scholarship support is provided through the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine (www.camcmedicine.edu). Additional professional development is offered through CAMC continuing education and training and through internal supports such as the Women in Medicine group.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Must have completed an APA-accredited internship and graduated from an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology. </li><li>Must maintain licensure and required continuing education for licensure and any specialty program delivery (if needed). </li><li>Provide evidence-based, best practice psychological assessment services </li><li>Provide effective, competent clinical supervision to residents and interns. </li><li>Apply research and scholarship to clinical service delivery. </li><li>Consultation and liaison with interprofessional care teams and community agencies specific to psychological testing and assessment. </li></ul> <p>Other Information</p> <p>Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)</p> <p>The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.</p> <p>Competency Statement</p> <p>Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist.</p> <p>Common Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>(Essential duties common to all positions)</p> <p>Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist, including:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Maintain and document all applicable required education.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with the company's attendance policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform work in a cost effective manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including but not limited to, overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform related duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Detailed Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conduct psychological testing for forensic assessment cases as assigned </li><li>Generate forensic testing reports to be provided to the forensic psychiatrist and submitted as an addendum with the report (NOTE: role excludes providing conclusions or opinions regarding overarching or specific legal or forensic referral questions). </li><li>Conduct other psychological testing and assessment for clinical diagnostic purposes as requested and assigned within the psychologist's scope of practice in outpatient/ambulatory department, and in inpatient settings as requested. </li><li>Provide clinical training and supervision to psychology residents as part of their training in psychological testing. This includes, but is not limited to, review of residents' clinical work product; direct/live observation of clinical work; providing evaluation and feedback about readiness for independent practice; providing didactic instruction in conducting psychological testing within the psychologist's scope of practice; other supervisory, teaching, and training duties as assigned by Program Director or Associate Program Director. </li></ul> <p>Competencies · Administration, scoring, and interpretation of standardized psychological tests. · The ability to clearly outline findings in a written report. Skills · Administration of standardized psychological tests · Scoring of standardized psychological tests · Accurate interpretation of standardized psychological tests · Production of clearly written integrated psychological test reports · Conducting psychological testing in accordance with the Ethics Code of the American Psychological Association Education Essential: <em>Doctoral Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program. Credentials Essential: </em>Psychologist, Licensed • Must be licensed or license-eligible as a clinical psychologist in WV. If not licensed in WV at the time of application, must pursue WV licensure upon hire. • Must be registered with the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. If not registered at the time of application, applicants must demonstrate they are in the process of applying to the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. • Must be credentialed through Medical Affairs prior to hire.</p>
