<p>Description of Service Opportunity:</p> <p>This opportunity is a stipend to provide mentoring support for two or more first-year teachers during the 2025-2026 school year as described in the CPS mentoring guidelines.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>To serve as a CPS Mentor, an educator must:</p> <ul> <li>Hold professional licensure (or have at least three years of teaching experience in the role being mentored and have the recommendation of their principal or supervisor). </li><li>Hold professional teacher status (PTS) in the Cambridge Public Schools (or have accumulated extensive previous teaching experience in the role being mentored). </li><li>Have demonstrated effective teaching practice in the classroom as shown by receiving a rating of at least proficient or exemplary on their most recent evaluation. </li><li>Have demonstrated practice that reflects excellent content knowledge of the MA Curriculum Frameworks and the Standards of Effective Teaching Practice and Educator Evaluation System. </li><li>Be an effective communicator and problem solver, especially when working with colleagues. </li><li>Have demonstrated proficiency in a variety of pedagogical strategies/methods to meet a diverse range of learning needs. </li><li>Be knowledgeable about the professional and community resources in the school and district. </li><li>Be able to maintain a confidential relationship. </li></ul> <p>Length of Contract:</p> <p>September 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026</p> <p>Contract Amount:</p> <p>Flat Rate $2500.00</p>
