They own many of the most trusted brands in the air transportation industry, including LEKTRO, JetAire, JetPower, AmpTekÔ, Jetway, and more.</p> <p>JOB OVERVIEW</p> <p>Join Oshkosh AeroTech as a Carpenter, where you will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements, taking precise measurements, and selecting the appropriate materials. Key responsibilities include cutting, shaping, and smoothing various materials such as lumber and fiberglass; constructing window frames, doors, staircases, and framing buildings; and laying flooring, roofing, and drywall with precision. The Carpenter will also carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, and shelves, perform installations, conduct inspections and repairs, and build scaffolding and other construction structures. Flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned is essential.</p> <p>YOUR IMPACT</p> <ul> <li>Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements. </li><li>Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed. </li><li>Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements. </li><li>Build window frames, doors, staricases and frame buildings by using raw materilas or pre-constructed items. </li><li>Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible. </li><li>Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items and install them where designated. </li><li>Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance </li><li>Build scaffolding and other construction structures </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned or needed. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED. </li><li>2+ years of relevant experience. </li><li>Must have a valid Drivers License. </li><li>Ability to clearly communicate verbally in person and on the phone. </li><li>Neat hand writing for communication and documentation. </li><li>Must be able to pass airport security Background check. </li><li>Able to work on any shift or weekend as scheduled to support a 24/7 operation. </li><li>Ability to work well with others, and adjust to changing priorities. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircrafts and around heavy equipment.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>While performing the duties of a Carpenter, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.
