<p>Human Resources Assistant</p> <p>Department: Human Resources</p> <p>Work Location: 72nd and Ames</p> <p>Employment Status: Full-Time</p> <p>Pay Range: $19-$21 per hour</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>The primary role of the Human Resources Assistant is the day-to-day administration of company policies and procedures for recruiting, onboarding, employee files and databases, benefits, personnel policies, and safety programs.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Welcome new employees to the organization by meeting for onboarding paperwork, sending offer letters out and conducting new hire orientation. </li><li>Keep employee records up to date in HRIS by processing employee changes in a timely manner. </li><li>Maintain hard-copy and electronic personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. </li><li>Answer employee questions and address employee concerns. </li><li>Distribute performance reviews and ensure company compensation policies and grading structure are being followed. </li><li>Responsible for I-9 file maintenance and compliance. </li><li>Complete employment verifications & inquiries. </li><li>Manage tuition reimbursement process. </li><li>Respond to unemployment claims and represent Goodwill in appeal hearings. </li><li>Compile required HR reports. </li><li>Cross train into other areas of HR to serve as a back-up for other Human Resource Team Members. </li><li>Meet or exceed attendance expectations for this position </li><li>Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT & INTERPERSONAL SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Personally participate in ongoing professional growth, education and development as well as supporting others in their efforts to develop. </li><li>Must have excellent working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and interdepartmentally </li><li>Good organizational, time management, verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible </li></ul> <p>ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT</p> <ul> <li>Educate customers and the community about the mission and vision of the organization. </li><li>Demonstrate the Goodwill core values through actions and words. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.</p> <p>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred </li><li>One year of Human Resources experience preferred </li><li>One to two years of administrative support experience required </li><li>High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required </li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</p> <ul> <li>First Aid & CPR certification </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Excellent time management and attention to detail </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality </li><li>Ability to prioritize among multiple projects </li><li>Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision </li><li>Ability to maintain accuracy </li><li>Ability to travel within the Goodwill service area </li><li>Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings </li><li>Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations </li><li>Ability to remain patient with difficult situations </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>Sedentary</p> <p>Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>Limited</p> <p>General office environment infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.)</p>
