<p>WORK BASED LEARNING COORDINATOR - RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST</p> <p>MALCOLM X COLLEGE</p> <p>MXC is currently seeking a?full-time Work Based Learning Coordinator - Radiologic Technologist?to join our team. To fulfill this mission, we focus on the following core values: accountability, community, diversity, empowerment, learning, and respect</p> <p>PRIMARY OBJECTIVE</p> <p>Reporting to an assigned administrator in the Allied Health/Career Programs, a Work Based Learning Coordinator plans and develops clinical education experiences for the clinical phase in an Allied Health/Career Program. The position monitors supervised clinical practice experiences and modifies them as necessary to ensure expected learning outcomes will be met by each student by program completion.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Evaluates student's clinical performance, competence, and knowledge in different areas of the medical field, both educationally and through on-site performance. </li><li>Scores and writes reports of evaluations and final examinations. Communicates results to students and program director. </li><li>Discusses performance with faculty and administrators in addition to clinical preceptors, for further understanding of the student's development. </li><li>Maintains links with clinical preceptors, health care institutions, and other agencies involved in the clinical phase of the program. </li><li>Provides clinical instruction and professional and academic counsel to students. </li><li>Performs periodic review and updates course materials. </li><li>Assures the availability of remedial instruction for students. </li></ul> <p>Operational Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Verifies syllabi and lesson plans are appropriately mapped to curriculum. </li><li>Develops and optimizes online study materials to aid in instruction and reports. </li><li>Prepares reports on student use of online study materials. </li><li>Orients instructors and preceptors to ensure student learning outcomes and expected educational competencies are communicated to instructors and scheduled for students. </li><li>Defines and maintains consistent and effective processes for the initial and ongoing evaluation of all sites and preceptors used for students clinical practice experiences, using comparable evaluation processes to clinical sites regardless of geographic location. </li><li>Monitors clinical rotations to ensure instructors and preceptors are fulfilling student learning outcomes. </li><li>Monitors supervised clinical practice experiences and modifies as necessary to ensure expected learning outcomes will be met by each student by program completion. </li><li>Coordinates with clinical instructors to ensure documentation of student demonstration of defined professional behaviors and to ensure student assessment, evaluations, various documentations and grades are properly obtained, complete, accurate and reported. </li></ul> <p>Program Administration:</p> <ul> <li>Establishes the clinical rotation schedule for all clinical students using established network of clinical sites. </li><li>Develops new/additional sites for program as necessary. </li><li>Coordinates student schedules with other institutions. </li><li>Performs clinical site evaluations as part of contract renewal. </li><li>Writes qualitative evaluations of site. </li><li>Updates and/or renews contracts as appropriate. </li><li>Collects data and prepares reports on clinical sites for inclusion in accreditation, grants, colleges, and other hospital documents. </li><li>Ensures all student records are complete and accurate. </li><li>Participates in self-study process. </li><li>Maintains documentation to verify student learning outcomes are being achieved. </li><li>Prepares student packets for preceptors to inform them of expected student learning outcomes and facilitate communication with student, instructors and college. </li><li>Ensures and documents that each clinical site provides the student access to physical facilities, patient populations and supervision necessary to fulfill the programs expectations of the clinical experience. </li><li>Prepares reports on qualitative evaluation of sites for inclusion in accreditation, grant applications, college, hospital and other program documents. </li><li>Promotes and recruits interested individuals into the program. </li></ul> <p>Student Guidance and Counsel:</p> <ul> <li>Guides and counsels' students to help them achieve the best results of the program. </li><li>Assists students in their professional developments. Ensures that students are informed of additional services to assist them throughout the program. </li><li>Provides students with additional information regarding national certification, licensure, and clinical privileges, processes, and policies. </li><li>Holds discussions with students to discuss educational and/or career development as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Program Development:</p> <ul> <li>Develops, schedules, and implements professional practice seminars to assist students in improving clinical knowledge and competencies and professional conduct. </li><li>Assists students in preparing for national certification examinations through a variety of methods customized to the student. </li><li>Maintains medical program certification and licensure or doctorate licensure as required by accreditation review committees (ARC). </li><li>Maintains clinical, teaching, scholarly and administrative professional development as required by ARC. </li></ul> <p>Recruiting and Strategic Planning:</p> <ul> <li>Participates in open-house programs for individuals interested in the PA program. </li><li>Meets with individuals to discuss the process of applying in the program and the necessary requirements to be admitted. </li><li>Reviews and interviews applicants to the program; selects applicants for admission to the medical program. </li><li>Meets with applicants not selected to advise and counsel for future admission. </li><li>Develops, reviews, and revises as necessary the mission statement for the program. </li><li>Evaluates the program and participates in action plans and timelines for implementation of changes, reevaluating changes and ongoing analysis. </li><li>Develops new or additional clinical and didactic year preceptor sites as necessary. </li><li>Attends departmental meetings, interdepartmental meetings, College-wide meetings, city-wide meetings, course preparation, and other professional duties. </li><li>Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree (Master's Preferred) in Public Health, Social Work, Community Psychology, or Social Science Degree with a focus on Community Health. </li><li>At Least 2 Years of experience working in capacity Building and Partnership Development </li><li>Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of IL. </li><li>Clinical practice that includes experience as a site coordinator of clinical </li><li>Clinical instructor (CI) in Radiology therapy is preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of program accreditation standards and regulatory compliance </li><li>Above average verbal and written communication required. Ability to communicate complicated information to varied audiences. Must conduct interactions in a polite and courteous manner. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidential information on the program and student records. </li><li>Proficiency in various software programs including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and database management. </li><li>Must be self-directed and able to prioritize work. Must be able to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
