<p>Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 12 states with over 3,000 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.</p> <p>We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.</p> <p>Rogers Group is currently seeking a Mine Planning Geologist to join our Operations Service and Support (OSS) department in Nashville, TN. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing drilling projects along with core logging. The ideal candidate will be strong in both stratigraphy and petrology. The Mine Planning Geologist will report to the Manager of Mine Planning and Geology and will take on additional responsibilities.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Geological investigation, research, and prospecting of potential Greenfields along with current quarries. </li><li>Manage investigative drilling projects including diamond core, auger, sonic, & rotary hammer drilling. </li><li>Ability to create geologically detailed core logs. </li><li>Managing quality control testing of the cores, including logistics and communications with the third-party testing labs. </li><li>Updating and inputting geological data and reports. </li><li>Creation of ultimate pit plans, reserves estimate, and 5-year plans (using Auto Cadd, Carlson, & GIS Software). </li><li>Gather, analyze, and document property boundaries, setbacks, easements, zoning, agreements, and other site-specific land use information needed for mine planning. </li><li>Field data collection with surveying equipment and drones. </li><li>Field time will be required along with some overnight traveling. </li><li>Assist in preparing presentations, documents, reports, and maps as needed. </li><li>Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance reserve recovery, reduce costs and impacts, and support operations and public outreach efforts related to safety, efficiency, and cost reduction. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Geology preferred. </li><li>1-5 years of experience in geology or in a geology-related field. </li><li>Mining, QA/QC, GIS experience, and FG/PG license would be preferred but not required. </li><li>Uncompromising focus on safety excellence, and the ability to complete MSHA safety training. </li><li>Self-motivated and able to work without requiring close supervision. </li><li>Ability to safely lift and move multiple 50lbs core boxes. </li><li>Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate changing conditions. </li><li>Interested in a career in the aggregate mining industry. </li><li>Detail oriented. </li></ul> <p>Rogers Group provides extensive benefits, strong compensation, and a safe, drug-free working environment.</p> <p>As a Rogers Group employee, you will have access to our competitive company perks, including:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance plus Health Savings Account with annual company contribution. </li><li>Company provided Group Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance. </li><li>Retirement 401(k) with company contribution and match at one year of service. </li><li>Company provided Short- and Long-Term Disability. </li><li>Paid Holiday's including Christmas shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day. </li><li>Paid vacation available after 180-day probationary period and accrued based on years of service. </li><li>Annual performance-based merit increases. </li><li>Career growth/advancement opportunities. </li></ul> <p>RGI EEO Statement</p> <p>It is the policy of Rogers Group, Inc. to recruit, hire, and promote individuals based on demonstrated merit and qualifications.
