Our programs and community are designed to promote personal well-being and achievement - enabling everyone to unlock their potential and contribute with confidence.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>This position will include research in the Biomedical Photonics Laboratory working on lab organization (50-80%) and on mentored research projects (20-50%) closely with the PI and Sr. Research Specialist.</p> <p>Responsibilities*</p> <ul> <li>Experimental research and computational studies related to the assessment of biophotonic technologies for treatment of traumatic brain injury, as well as other projects. </li><li>Take on role of lab safety officer under Sr. Research Specialist and PI supervision. </li><li>Perform routine lab procedures, operate lab equipment, and record test data. </li><li>Write and develop SOP's with clear and detailed instructions. </li><li>Documentation of work via regular summaries, and written or digital lab notebook </li><li>Organizing, inventorying, and documenting lab equipment, chemicals, and consumables. </li><li>Archiving, inventorying, and organizing current and past project documentation such as lab notebooks, relevant research literature, and digital data files. </li><li>Chemical disposal and/or equipment disposition. </li><li>Work may include human cell culture </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, biological sciences, or physics </li><li>Attention to detail </li><li>Past exposure to/experience with biomedical or biophotonics research </li><li>Desired time commitment of 4-8 months </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications*</p> <p>Experience in some or all areas below is highly desirable:</p> <ul> <li>Biophotonics research that may include work on prototyping/designing laser or LED fiber optic light systems and light detectors for pre-clinical application </li><li>Cell culture experience </li><li>Monte Carlo photonics modeling </li><li>3D image-based design experience using Materialise software or Solidworks (or similar software) </li></ul> <p>Modes of Work</p> <p>Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
