<p>Job Description</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Schedule: Monday to Friday, Days (No weekends or holidays)</p> <p>Location: Riley Pediatrics - Carmel</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Registration Specialist facilitates patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. This role is responsible for gathering financial and demographic information to ensure accurate records that support optimal reimbursement and clinical outcomes.</p> <p>Key duties include scheduling appointments, interviewing patients for medical information, explaining charges and policies, validating and entering charges, and collecting payments. The representative also answers incoming calls and directs patients and visitors appropriately.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Schedule patient appointments and obtain necessary documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Interview patients to collect accurate medical and financial information.</p> </li><li> <p>Explain departmental and hospital charges and policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Collect payments and ensure compliance with billing guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Answer and direct incoming calls and assist patients and visitors.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain professionalism and accuracy in all interactions.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education: High School Diploma or GED required.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience:</p> </li><li> <p>Relevant experience in a healthcare setting preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Scheduling and front office experience is a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Skills & Knowledge:</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of insurance verification and clinical practices preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with medical terminology and general anatomy.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).</p> </li></ul>
