<p>Position Title:</p> <p>Admissions Counselor</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions for Recruitment, the Admissions Counselor participates in all the recruitment activities of the Admissions Office, including promoting the University through high school visits, college fairs, and programs held on campus; reviewing applications as part of a holistic, rolling selection process; and maintaining regular and timely contact with assigned prospective students and families. This position will require frequent travel (0-5 hours from campus) and the ability to work nights and weekends.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Represent Mount St. Mary's University to a wide and diverse audience in high schools and at college fair programs </li><li>Plan, manage, and execute recruitment travel, which includes minimum of 8-10 weeks in the fall and 4-5 weeks in the spring </li><li>Establish and cultivate relationships with secondary school counselors </li><li>Correspond with prospective students and their families daily </li><li>Conduct on-campus and off-campus information sessions </li><li>Participate in the success of on-campus recruitment programs (i.e., Open House Programs, Accepted Students' Day programs, etc.) </li><li>Participate fully in the evaluation of applications and selection of the incoming class </li><li>Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Executive Director of Admissions </li></ul> <p>Minor Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist with general administrative responsibilities for the Admissions Office. </li><li>Keep current on all aspects of MSMU, especially academic, social, religious, and athletic programs and events. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree with good communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Be able to relate to and work well with a variety of people, and to work well both independently and as part of a team. </li><li>Articulate the values of a liberal arts education in the Catholic tradition. </li><li>Have a valid driver's license. </li><li>The ability to travel and work nights and weekends. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual (Spanish preferred) </li><li>Background in Higher Education Admissions or Student Affairs </li></ul> <p>Salary :</p> <p>$44,766/year</p> <p>(Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications).</p> <p>Employee Benefits:</p> <p>This full-time, exempt position includes full benefits and vacation, holiday, and sick leave.
