As Payroll Specialist, you'll ensure our 130+ hourly and salaried employees are paid accurately and on time, every time. You'll work closely with both HR and Accounting, building relationships across departments and becoming a trusted expert in payroll operations.</p> <p>This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in fast-paced environments, and finds satisfaction in getting the details just right. This position is located in Tacoma, WA.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Collect and organize daily/weekly time sheets, ensuring all data is accurate, including regular and overtime hours. </li><li>Accurately enter timesheet data into the accounting system with precision. </li><li>Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll information and documentation. </li><li>Prepare and forward preliminary payroll reports to managers for review and approval. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of wage changes, insurance coverages, garnishments, and 401(k) plan deductions. </li><li>Process and remit federal, state, and local tax payments. </li><li>Generate periodic reports on earnings, taxes, and deductions. </li><li>Prepare and distribute paychecks. </li><li>Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries and coordinate timely solutions. </li><li>Ensure accurate and timely payment of benefit premiums (medical, dental, and voluntary benefits). </li><li>Support retirement contribution processing and participate in annual 401(k) audits. </li><li>Jump in where needed-other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>What Makes You a Great Fit</p> <p>You're the kind of person who:</p> <ul> <li>Notices the little things-and understands how much they matter </li><li>Thrives in a role where structure, deadlines, and details drive your day </li><li>Enjoys working with a variety of teams and is a great communicator </li><li>Has a natural sense of urgency and takes ownership of their work </li><li>Loves turning complex rules and numbers into clear, error-free results </li></ul> <p>Required Skills & Experience</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred. </li><li>Minimum of two years of in-house full cycle payroll processing experience required. </li><li>Experience with a fully integrated ERP accounting system. </li><li>Solid understanding of, tax withholding, and wage garnishments. </li><li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office tools a must. </li><li>Working knowledge of accounting principles and payroll compliance. </li><li>Strong attention to detail with a track record of minimal errors. </li><li>Self-motivated with excellent time management and prioritization skills. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity. </li></ul> <p>All employees of Globe MUST be able to pass a drug test and background check.
