<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Contract/Hourly Employment/Extracurricular Assignment - Professional Personnel</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>9/18/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Jane Lew Elementary School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>01/14/2026</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>12/17/2025</p> <p>County:</p> <p>  Lewis County Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>POSTING NUMBER: 826</p> <p>ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL EXTRACURRICULAR VACANCY</p> <p>POSITION: Beginning Teacher Mentor - Grade 5</p> <p>LOCATION: Jane LewElementary School</p> <p>CERTIFICATION: Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li>A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience </li></ol> <ul> <li>Satisfactory evaluations for the past five (5) years </li></ul> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li>Prepare and deliver an orientation program for the beginning intern to be conducted prior to the </li></ol> <p>beginning of the instructional term, but within the employment term (unless beginning intern is hired</p> <p>after the beginning of the instructional term)</p> <ul> <li>Observe the classroom teaching skills of the beginning intern for at least one-hour per week during the first half of the mentoring program and which may be reduced at the discretion of the mentor to one-hour every two-weeks during the second half of the mentoring program </li><li>Conduct weekly meetings with the beginning intern to discuss the performance of the beginning intern and any improvements.
