<p>CAREER DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Position</p> <p>Volunteer Services Support Intern (Unpaid Intern)</p> <p>Deadline to Apply</p> <p>The deadline for this recruitment is Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 11:59 PM (PST).</p> <p>Orange County Health Care Agency</p> <p>The OC Health Care Agency (HCA) is a regional provider, charged with protecting and promoting individual, family and community health through coordination of public and private sector resources.</p> <p>HCA is composed of the following service areas:</p> <ul> <li>AdministrativeServices </li><li>Behavioral HealthServices </li><li>Correctional HealthServices </li><li>Public HealthServices </li><li>Specialty Medical Services </li></ul> <p>HCA Volunteer Services works under Administrative Services within Financial Services and Program Support. Volunteer Services recruits ,selects, assigns, trains, monitors and evaluates volunteers and interns who provide support to professional, technical and other agency staff involved in providing services in a variety of agency and County programs. In addition, Volunteer Services promotes support of and participation in County programs and services through public speaking, community involvement, orientations and media presentations.</p> <p>The Opportunity</p> <p>The Volunteer Services program offers interns the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional government setting while supporting the coordination and administration of volunteer and internship programs across the agency. Interns will assist with a variety of clerical and administrative tasks, including data entry, document management, and communication with program participants.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, undergraduate program or be a recent (within 6 months) graduate who has completed their undergraduate degree. This internship is best suited for candidates with an interest in pursing a career or gaining experience within the public sector. Strong candidates will ideally have a field of study related to Database Management, Business Administration and Analysis, Management Information Systems, Human Resources, Human Services, and Volunteer/Intern Management.</p> <p>Skills, Training & Qualifications</p> <p>HCA Volunteer Services is seeking applicants with the following qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of and experience in Access data base management, especially in building queries and special reports </li><li>Excellent communication skills </li><li>Highly organized and dependable </li><li>Able to work in a fast-pacedenvironment </li><li>Able to provide detailed and accurate administrativesupport </li><li>Eager to gain professionalexperience </li><li>Reliable, outgoing, and able to work independently and in a team environment </li><li>Experienced in Internet use and Microsoft Office Suite </li></ul> <p>Training & Supervision that will be Provided by the Agency/Department & Division</p> <p>Interns will receive comprehensive orientation and ongoing training provided by the Volunteer Coordinator and team within the Health Care Agency. Training will cover agency policies, confidentiality, use of office systems and software, and best practices for administrative and volunteer management support. Interns will be directly supervised by the Volunteer Services Coordinator and receive regular feedback, guidance, and mentorship to enhance their professional development.</p> <p>Time Commitment</p> <p>Minimum 12 - 24 hours per week. Hours must be scheduled during normal business hours (Monday - Friday between 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.). Applicants able to schedule the maximum hours/duration listed for the internship typically gain a more in-depth experience.
