<p>Primary purpose:</p> <p>The Vice President - Safety?will lead the strategic direction, execution, and continuous improvement of safety and workforce development programs across our?midstream pipeline?and?power generation?operations.</p> <p>This executive will unify safety priorities across multiple operating groups and project sites, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and dedication to doing the right thing. The successful candidate will bring deep field experience in high-hazard energy operations/construction, a proven record of implementing scalable safety management systems, and the ability to influence outcomes across complex, multi-site organizations.</p> <p>This is a high-visibility?servant leadership?position reporting to the?SVP Operations and requires significant travel to maintain a strong presence in the field and across operating units.</p> <p>Essential duties and responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide strategic leadership and vision?for all corporate and field-level safety and training initiatives across midstream pipeline and power generation operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Refine and execute our comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS), TOPSafe?aligned with corporate goals, regulatory requirements, and customer/partner expectations.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead and develop a multi-site team?of safety professionals, promoting consistent standards, best practices, coaching, and performance metrics.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with projects, operations and engineering leadership?to identify risk, mitigate hazards, and strengthen jobsite and operational safety performance through practical controls and field engagement.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee contractor/third-party safety and training alignment, including onboarding, qualification, field verification, audits, and performance reviews.</p> </li><li> <p>Champion a proactive safety culture?emphasizing accountability, stop-work authority, learning, and continuous improvement at all levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish performance tracking and reporting?using leading and lagging indicators; leverage data analytics to identify trends, target interventions, and measure effectiveness.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead incident investigation, response and learning?for serious incidents and high-potential events, ensuring strong investigations, corrective actions, and enterprise-wide sharing of lessons learned.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with executive and regional leaders?to align safety and training priorities with growth objectives, operational plans, and customer commitments.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum requirements:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in?Safety Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience. </li></ul> <p>Experience/Specific Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>15+ years?of progressive safety leadership experience in energy infrastructure, with strong?field operations?expertise;?midstream pipeline?and/or?power generation?experience highly preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated success managing safety and training programs in?large, geographically dispersed?organizations (preferred). </li><li>Strong working knowledge of applicable regulatory and consensus standards, which may include: </li><li>OSHA?and applicable state requirements </li><li>DOT/PHMSA pipeline safety?(as applicable to the role) </li><li>API/ASME?standards relevant to pipeline integrity and construction </li><li>NFPA/NEC?considerations relevant to power generation and electrical safety </li><li>Company/customer-specific safety requirements and audit programs </li><li>Proven ability to implement innovative, scalable safety and training initiatives that improve leading indicators and reduce serious incidents. </li><li>Executive-level leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills; able to influence across all organizational levels and with customers/regulators. </li><li>Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate trends into practical field actions. </li><li>Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook </li></ul> <p>Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:</p> <ul> <li>Professional certifications such as?CSP, CUSP, CHST?(preferred). Equivalent credentials or demonstrated expertise considered. </li></ul> <p>Competencies, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to require work schedules, and follow company policies. </li><li>Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines and prioritize work. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>All the physical requirements listed below are those that may be necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Will work non-traditional hours as needed. </li><li>Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours. </li><li>Willingness to travel frequently to support field operations and training programs (estimated [50-80%] travel, depending on footprint). </li><li>Candidates will be required to clear a drug screen and complete a background check, including a credit report for certain positions after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibility:</p> <ul> <li>Yes </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education, Experience, Certifications, Competencies, Skills & Abilities:</p> <p>Above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Construction Health Safety Technician (CHST) or Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Master's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Engineering or a related discipline.</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook for the purposes of word processing, spreadsheet applications, and information retrieval.</p> </li></ul> <p>Other Responsibilities:</p> <p>The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. This position may perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Compensation</p> <p>The salary range for this role is $250,000-$320,000/yr.</p>
