<p>Ceramics Instructor - PT</p> <p>Eagan Art House</p> <p>Pay: $32.23 per hour (adult/teen teaching)</p> <p> Part-time Recurring (year-round), Non-Exempt, Not Benefit Eligible</p> <p>The Eagan Art House is hiring a Ceramics Instructor!</p> <p>The Eagan Art House opened a new art education facility in the summer of 2025. Be a part of our expanded space and opportunities!</p> <p> This position is responsible for planning and implementing ceramics curriculum, including wheel throwing and hand building, for all skill levels for students ages 6 through adult. This position may also teach adult/child workshops.</p> <p>Hours may include days and evenings, not to exceed 29 hours per week. A typical week is 3 to 6 hours per week with opportunities for more hours depending on demand.</p> <p>Interviews will take place on select Friday afternoons beginning in April. The expected start date will be mid-August with instruction beginning mid-September. </p> <p>The Eagan Art House team is highly collaborative and committed to creative engagement for all ages throughout the community.</p> <ul> <li>Enthusiastically engage students in the process of art creation. </li><li>Develop, plan and implement ceramics curriculum for ages 6 through adult, and adult/child workshops. </li><li>Demonstrate a knowledge of wheel thrown and hand-built clay construction, glazing and firing. </li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of artists, artwork styles and art history. </li><li>Ability to provide hands-on demonstrations to students. </li><li>Prepare materials for classes & workshops, as needed. </li><li>Listen to student needs and adapt curriculum development accordingly. </li><li>Perform studio chores in coordination with Pottery Program Specialist. </li><li>Thoroughly clean up teaching space and supplies after each class. </li><li>Work cooperatively with Eagan Art House team members. </li><li>Keep supervisor informed of concerns or issues related to classes. </li><li>Degree or coursework leading to a degree in art or art education or equivalent experience in art or art education. </li><li>One (1) year of experience teaching ceramics to teen and adults in a classroom or workshop setting. </li><li>Ability to be flexible in a variety of settings. </li><li>Weekend and evening availability. </li><li>Experience with alternative firings. </li><li>Experience or ability to teach to youth audiences. </li><li>Actively creates ceramics artwork. </li></ul> <p>Position Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Positive attitude and ability to work as a team member. </li><li>Ability to work and problem solve independently. </li><li>Sense of curiosity and ability to ask questions. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Sit, stand, talk, write, hear. Occasionally required to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally must climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, run, walk. Adequate vision to perform the essential functions of the job.</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Mostly indoor conditions. Some outdoor conditions for events. </li><li>Work in a variety of spaces that may require moving tables, chairs and equipment. </li></ul>
