<p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector performs Quality Control inspections on composite tiles.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Inspects incoming materials and parts visually and mechanically from outside vendors to ensure conformance to specifications and certifications. </li><li>Performs in-process inspection of parts and operations at any stage of production. </li><li>Performs finished parts inspection prior to shipping to confirm specifications have been met. </li><li>Performs inspections as required using height gauges, micrometers, indicators, tape measures, calipers, optical comparators, and scales. </li><li>Prepares parts and respective paperwork for customer or source inspection. </li><li>Creates legible Inspection Reports recording the results of inspection and keeps documentation organized. </li><li>Supports other Quality Department tasks as needed </li><li>Supports the overall business through the timely completion of inspection and documentation tasks </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read simple blueprints/sketches. </li><li>Maintains accuracy and attention to detail. </li><li>Must have a good understanding of basic arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. </li><li>Material handling and Forklift experience preferred. </li><li>Strong time management and commitment to get the job done. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to move about a large manufacturing facility. </li><li>Constantly communicating with others to exchange information. </li><li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. </li><li>Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds. </li><li>Must be able to wear PPE as necessary (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, etc.). </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <p>Majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise levels within safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.</p> <p>To conform to U.S. Government export control regulations and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information restrictions, applicant must be a U.S citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorization from the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce.</p> <p>This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.</p> <p>Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time.</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p>
