<p>The Sociology and Education Program in the Department of Education Policy & Social Analysis at Teachers College, Columbia University (EPSA) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in the quantitative analysis of educational inequality, and policies and practices designed to ameliorate it.</p> <p>Job Summary/Basic Function:</p> <p>The Sociology and Education Program in the Department of Education Policy & Social Analysis at Teachers College, Columbia University (EPSA) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in the quantitative analysis of educational inequality, and policies and practices designed to ameliorate it. Such expertise is central to Teachers College's mission to support the building of a more just and equitable world through multidisciplinary knowledge creation and policy engagement. We are interested in scholars who wish to work in an engaging academic, professional, and social environment, with world-class students in a world-class city. We also seek candidates who can contribute to the growth and development of an increasingly diverse community of students, staff and faculty committed to educational equity.</p> <p>EPSA includes graduate programs in Economics and Education, History and Education, Politics and Education, Sociology and Education, and Education Policy. The Department's 12 tenure-track faculty, two Research Professors, and two full-time Assistant Professors of Teaching draw upon multiple disciplinary perspectives to explore education policies and practices across the pre-K to higher education spectrum. Outside of the institution, our faculty and students also benefit from the rich cultural, policy, and intellectual environment of New York City.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Earned doctorate in sociology or education with strong sociological training and a demonstrated focus on applied quantitative policy research </li><li>Evidence of scholarly accomplishments and likelihood of future productivity; promise or history of external research support. </li><li>Evidence of or potential for high-quality teaching and advising of graduate students in the Sociology and Education program and the Department of Education Policy and Social Analysis. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Candidates who are able to teach introductory and intermediate graduate courses on data analysis for policy and decision-making are particularly desirable.</p> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>115000-148000</p> <p>Work Modality:</p> <p>Faculty</p> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity</p> <p>Teachers College is committed to fostering an inclusive academic community and to providing equal opportunity in employment.
