Develop and write formulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Develop and maintain relationships with prescriber's offices for compounded medications.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy patients and caregivers on compound ingredients, dosage, storage of medication(s), use of medication(s), pertinent interaction(s) and other information relating to the compounded medication(s). </li><li>Provides information to patients regarding readiness of compounds, mailing policies & procedures, and billing & insurance information. </li><li>Receives oral, electronic, or written prescriptions, orders, or refill requests, verifying that information is complete and accurate. </li><li>Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills prescriptions to be dispensed, and appropriately labels containers. </li><li>Establishes and maintains patient profiles and records, enters prescriptions accurately, and bills insurances appropriately. </li><li>Assists the pharmacy team in providing customer service. </li><li>Assists in maintaining inventory of the pharmacy, including, but not limited to: labels, medication, compounding ingredients, supplies, etc. </li><li>Cleans and helps maintain equipment, work areas and glassware according to SOPs. </li><li>Maintains proper storage of security conditions of medications, ingredients and finished compounds. </li><li>Effectively compounds the following (but not limited to): injections and infusions, irrigations for internal body cavities, ophthalmic dosage forms, aqueous preparations for pulmonary inhalation, baths and soaks for live organs and tissues, and implants. </li><li>Follows established SOPs, assists with formulation development of new SOPs and data entry, and has competence in mathematical calculations. </li><li>Effectively communicates with prescribers and other healthcare professionals, conveying appropriate information to designated staff for proper compounding of medications. </li><li>Develops and maintains an understanding of major compounding topics, including, but not limited to: infusions, nutritional support, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), veterinary medicine, pain management, and mitochondrial disorders. </li><li>Attends external professional meetings and interacts professionally with patients, staff, </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <p>Pharmacy, Compounding, pharmaceutical manufacturing, pharmaceutical, staff pharmacist, long-term care, ltc, pharmacy benefits management, retail pharmacy, pharmacology, formulations, pharmacy management, sterile environment, infusions, prescription refill, aseptic technique, aseptic processing, pharmacist, medicare, Sterile Compounding, Aseptic, Sterile, Formulation, Medication, Dosage, PharmD, Prescription, compound ingredients, medication refill, CEU, drug formulation, compounding pharmacy, NABP, pharmacy compounding, pharmacy certified, pharmacy certification, prior authorization, management skills, clinical review, clinical pharmacology</p> <p>Top Skills Details</p> <p>Pharmacy,Compounding,pharmaceutical manufacturing,pharmaceutical,staff pharmacist,long-term care,ltc,pharmacy benefits management,retail pharmacy,pharmacology,formulations,pharmacy management,sterile environment,infusions,prescription refill,aseptic tech</p> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>BS or PharmD from accredited school of pharmacy </li><li>Current State pharmacist license in good standing </li><li>Any CEUs needed to keep State licensure current.
