<p>The IT Security organization partners closely with technology and business leaders to protect the organization while enabling innovation and growth. As a 1st Line function, we focus on delivering and operating security capabilities aligned to enterprise priorities.</p> <p>As the Senior Manager, Security Strategy & Execution, you will shape and drive the enterprise security roadmap, translating evolving threats and business needs into actionable initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, program leadership, and execution, partnering across IT and business teams to move key security priorities forward. This is a forward-looking role focused less on hands-on engineering and more on driving outcomes, alignment, and progress across security initiatives. The role may also evolve to include team leadership responsibilities. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by IT leadership.</p> <p>What success looks like:</p> <ul> <li>Clear, actionable security roadmap with measurable progress. </li><li>Strong alignment across security, IT, and business teams. </li><li>Improved execution and visibility across key initiatives. </li><li>Tangible progress in priority areas (identity, cloud, secure access). </li></ul> <p>This role is hybrid (Mon through Thu on-site / Fri remote) at the UMB Technology & Operations Center located in downtown Kansas City, MO.</p> <p>How you will spend your time:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Partner with IT and business leaders to define and execute security strategy and roadmap priorities.</p> </li><li> <p>Translate risk insights and emerging threats into clear, actionable security initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead planning, coordination, and execution tracking across key security efforts.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive program structure and visibility, including roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Support initiatives across areas such as:</p> </li><li> <p>Identity and access management</p> </li><li> <p>Cloud and infrastructure security</p> </li><li> <p>Secure access / network security evolution</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to embed security into technology initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify capability gaps and help shape multi-year plans and investment priorities.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and track program metrics to measure progress and effectiveness.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to improving security operating models and ways of working.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor team members and support team growth as needed.</p> </li></ul> <p>We are excited to talk if you have:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 10 years of technical work experience including at least 6 years of management experience. OR equivalent combination of education and work experience. </li><li>At least 10 years of experience across cybersecurity, IT, or related roles. </li><li>Experience in security strategy, program leadership, or large-scale initiative delivery. </li><li>Strong understanding of core security domains (identity, cloud, network, data). </li><li>Ability to translate complex problems into structured, executable plans. </li><li>Proven ability to lead through influence across technical and business teams. </li><li>Experience building roadmaps, business cases, and strategic plans. </li><li>Strong communication skills, including experience working with senior leadership. </li></ul> <p>Bonus Points if you have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Zero Trust / SASE, cloud security, or identity modernization initiatives. </li><li>Background in financial services or other complex environments. </li><li>Experience in consulting, transformation, or enterprise strategy roles. </li><li>Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar. </li><li>Experience leading or mentoring teams. </li></ul> <p>Applicants must have legal authority to work in the United States.
