<p>The Traveling Laborer / CDL Driver is responsible for supporting telecommunications construction crews by performing manual labor tasks and safely operating commercial vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and personnel to and from job sites. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Operate CDL-required vehicles (e.g., dump trucks, flatbeds, water trucks) to transport materials, equipment, and crews </li><li>Assist with loading and unloading of construction materials and tools </li><li>Perform general labor duties including digging, trenching, hand excavation, and site preparation </li><li>Support installation of underground and aerial telecommunications infrastructure (fiber, conduit, cable) </li><li>Assist equipment operators and skilled crew members as needed </li><li>Maintain job site cleanliness and organization </li><li>Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA and company standards </li><li>Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks </li><li>Complete required logs, reports, and documentation accurately and timely </li><li>Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production goals and deadlines </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid CDL (Class A or B) with a clean driving record </li><li>Previous experience in construction, telecommunications, or utility work preferred </li><li>Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions </li><li>Familiarity with hand and power tools </li><li>Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards </li><li>Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work in a team environment </li><li>Willingness to travel as needed </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in fiber optic or underground utility construction </li><li>Equipment operation experience (e.g., skid steer, mini excavator) </li><li>OSHA 10 or 30 certification </li><li>Traffic control or flagging certification </li></ul> <p>Work Environment & Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly </li><li>Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting </li><li>Work performed outdoors in varying conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.) </li><li>Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends when required </li></ul>
