<p>Hiring Department</p> <p>Division of Animal Sciences</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Providing animal care, recordkeeping and support for the National Swine Resource and Research Center. These high-value animals are housed at multiple locations across campus and represent an important genetic resource for the biomedical community; therefore, the position must be able to maintain strict biosecurity across all sites.</p> <p>Job duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <p>70% Feed and Care of NSRRC pigs</p> <p>10% Breeding and farrowing which may include semen collection, litter processing and estrus detection</p> <p>5% Record keeping</p> <p>5% Swine health monitoring and care</p> <p>5% Swine transport and maintenance of transport vehicles</p> <p>5% Other duties as assigned, which may include; helping with euthanization, sample collections from live or morbid animals, and disposal of morbid animals at the VMDL.</p> <p>Shift</p> <p>40 hours/week, workdays negotiable based on facility needs</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Possesses and utilizes broadened technical knowledge and skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities.</p> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range</p> <p>The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.27 -$24.91 hourly.</p> <p>Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.</p> <p>Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
