<p>Posting Number: 20254347S Position Title: Assistant Athletics Trainer (Football Assistant+) Position Type: Staff Location: Villanova, PA Recruitment Type: Internal/External Applicants Work Schedule: full-time/12-months Avg Hours Week Department: 733-Athletics - Training Room Position Summary:</p> <p>The Assistant Athletics Trainer, under the license of our Team Physician, will assist the Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine in all activities related to the delivery of health care to our varsity student-athletes in assigned sports (football assistant + primary on another sport) which includes working cooperatively and in conjunction with the Strength & Conditioning Staff. Design, implement and supervise appropriate treatment and rehabilitation programs for student-athletes, by maximizing and individualizing integrated training programs to achieve desired outcomes.</p> <p>All duties must be completed in compliance with University, Conference and NCAA regulations.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the coordination and supervision of Villanova's Division I varsity athletic programs (as assigned; including, but not limited to primary sport(s) assignments). Responsible for all phases of student-athlete healthcare </li><li>Assist the Assistant AD, Sports Medicine with duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to, supervisory day-to-day operations of the sports medicine facilities, the implementation of the Athletics Department drug testing program, hiring and recruitment of Sports Medicine Department personnel, departmental budget oversight, drafting and implementing policies and procedures. </li><li>Design and implement treatment and rehab programs for time-loss and post-surgical rehab cases. </li><li>Serve as a liaison between Sports Medicine, Sports Performance, and Physical Therapy staff regarding rehabilitation programs. </li><li>Serve as liaison with the Student Health Center and outside medical practices associated with the care of varsity student-athletes. </li><li>Responsible for daily electronic medical documentation for all student-athletes. </li><li>Perform additional duties, assist with coverage of other sports, as needed, and assist with special projects as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director, Sports Medicine. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Formal Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in sports medicine/athletic training or related field; current NATA certification; Pennsylvania Athletic Training Class A Certification required.
