<p>Position Summary</p> <p>As a Correctional Sergeant, you will be responsible for the security, control, and treatment of residents at WRC. You will act as a lead worker assuming total responsibility for post operations in a particular area on an assigned shift. Duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Supervising residents in work, housing unit, and activity situations. </li><li>Escorting residents off grounds for appointments as required. </li><li>Patrolling buildings and grounds. </li><li>Monitoring visitations. </li><li>Providing a therapeutic environment for residents. </li><li>Maintaining record keeping systems. </li></ul> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The starting pay is $36.35 /hour (approximately $75,600 annually) or more based on state seniority. The pay schedule and range is 05/32. </li></ul> <p>Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>All applicants who may be appointed to these positions will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.</p> <p>The selected candidates will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by WRC or medical personnel approved by the facility after their start date.</p> <p>Due to the nature of this position, individuals will be required to complete a physical ability verification. For a guide on developing your resume and letter of qualifications and what should be included in these materials, click here.</p> <p>Additional requirements include:</p> <ul> <li>Legal ability to possess and physical ability to properly utilize firearms. </li><li>Ability to meet the physical ability standards of this position described above. </li><li>Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed including staying for the next shift (up to 16 hours total in one shift) </li><li>Must meet the requirements of the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy which requires a valid driver's license, minimum of two years non-probationary licensed driving experience with a regular (Class D) driver's license, and must be 18 years of age or older. Additionally, the driving record must not reflect the following conditions: three or more moving violations and/or at fault accidents in the past two years, an OWI or DUI violation within the past 12 months, or suspension or revocation of the driver's license. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Applying is easy!
