The position responsibilities includes the coordination of medical student training, physician assistant student training and evaluation from affiliated schools of medicine and the ongoing coordination and evaluation of the internal medicine resident affiliation from Marshall University School of Medicine. The Incumbent is also accountable for integrated programs providing clinical services across a wide range of services. These programs include the Medical Center EPRP and Quality oversight, follow-up of care management of general medical, medical specialty patients, and patients enrolled in the Chief, Medical Service Clinic. Evaluation of these services and the progress toward achievement of organizational goals are on-going.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Administrative: </li></ol> <p>The Medical Service Clinical Coordinator is accountable for administrative oversight of all affiliating Internal Medicine Residents and Medical Students. The Medical Service Clinical Coordinator serves as the director of Physician Assistant Student Education. Organizational mission and goals are pursued to improve Medical Center outcomes. The incumbent crosses boundaries due to the complex nature of the department and need to integrate services to provide quality and care. The Medical Service Clinical Coordinator is responsible for strategic planning within the boundaries of the service and goals of the Medical Center. The incumbent is also responsible for resource allocation, performance improvement, evaluation, daily operations, evaluation performance and compliance with accreditation programs. Staff development is also a major component in this role and provides opportunities for educational programs to assist staff in meeting personal and organizational goals. Inherent to the incumbent's responsibility is the continuous improvement of services that yield positive outcomes for the patient receiving services as inpatients and in the medical sub-specialty outpatient clinics. The incumbent establishes and completes the quarterly Resident Supervision review. The incumbent is also responsible for conducting concurrent inpatient and outpatient pertinence reviews and providing executive leadership summaries and reports of quality improvement activities performed in the process of successful completion of Resident Supervision reviews and inpatient/outpatient pertinence reviews.
