Join our team and grow your career in a hospital where everyday excellence meets or exceeds expectations.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Plant Operations I Laborer/Helper provides essential support to the facilities team by assisting with routine tasks that contribute to the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the hospital environment. This entry-level position supports the maintenance staff through basic manual labor, equipment movement, and workspace upkeep. The role requires reliability, physical stamina, and a commitment to workplace safety.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Assists in moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as directed </li><li>Performs general cleaning and upkeep of maintenance and storage areas </li><li>Delivers tools, materials, and parts to support maintenance and repair teams </li><li>Clears work areas of debris and returns tools and equipment to designated storage </li><li>Provides support for groundskeeping, snow removal, or light exterior maintenance </li><li>Responds to basic requests for transport or set-up of facility items </li><li>Follows safety procedures and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) </li><li>Reports unsafe conditions, spills, or hazards to supervisor promptly </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Willingness to learn and follow instructions </li><li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team </li><li>Strong work ethic, punctuality, and dependability </li><li>Basic understanding of workplace safety and proper handling of equipment </li><li>Good physical condition to perform sustained manual labor </li><li>Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying items up to 50 lbs </li><li>Occasional pushing/pulling of carts or equipment </li><li>Exposure to noise, dust, and varying indoor/outdoor temperatures </li><li>Must be able to use hand tools and basic equipment under supervision </li><li>Participates in team safety meetings and department updates </li><li>Demonstrates respect for patients, staff, and visitors through courteous behavior </li><li>Adheres to organizational policies for attendance, conduct, and safety </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED (Preferred) </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>None required </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>No previous experience required; on-the-job training provided </li></ul>
